2013 Purina Outstanding Amateur Retriever Award

Outstanding Amateur Retriever Award

FC-AFC Tealcreek Patton’s Saber (“Saber”), a 9-year-old Labrador Retriever owned by Chris and Portia Hatch of Butte Valley, California, won the Purina Outstanding Amateur Retriever Award by earning 47 points in the yearlong competition.  Saber and Hatch entered 22 Amateur trials, finished 15 and placed in 13. Among his eight wins were two double header wins, first at the Lassen Retriever Club and then at the Idaho Retriever Club. “Saber is an extremely intelligent dog and an excellent marker who runs straight. He figured out what this game is all about at an early age and he loves it,” says Hatch, who has qualified for 12 National Amateurs and was a finalist in one. Saber is fueled by Purina® Pro Plan® SPORT Performance 30/20 Formula.
