16th Annual ‘National Dog Show Presented by Purina’ Airs on Thanksgiving Day
As traditional as turkey and cranberries are on Thanksgiving Day, “The National Dog Show Presented by Purina” is a favorite of millions of people who tune in to watch the televised program as part of their holiday. This year’s show promises to be one of the best ever with 2,135 dogs competing, the highest entry in the past 10 years.

Purina is the newest corporate member of the USA Rice/Ducks Unlimited (DU) Rice Stewardship Partnership. Through a $2 million commitment over four years, Purina’s investment in the Rice Stewardship Partnership will help keep working ricelands healthy, preserve wetlands and create habitat for waterfowl and other wildlife.
‘Mully’ Wins 2017 National Amateur Retriever Championship
A 6 ½-year-old Labrador Retriever named “Mully” (NAFC-FC Mulligan Off The Rainy “T”) won the 2017 National Amateur Retriever Championship in Mondovi, Wisconsin, performing flawlessly through 10 challenging land and water series to top 138 of the country's top field trial retrievers.

BRIGHT MIND-Fed Cardigan Welsh Corgi Named ‘Libby’ Wins National Specialty Best of Breed
Showing her heart out for owner-handler Sherri Hurst of Houston at the Cardigan Welsh Corgi Club of America (CWCCA) National Specialty May 14, “Libby,” an 8-year-old brindle bitch, moved effortlessly. With beautiful side gait, powerful reach and drive, and a perfectly level topline, Libby looked as though she could go on endlessly.
Kaylynn Williams – Featured Members Story, Sporting
Kaylynn Williams’ passion for Beagles began at a young age. Her grandfather, uncle and father have had an affinity for the breed for over 40 years. Now, at age 21, Kaylynn competes with her Purina® Pro Plan® fueled Beagles in an average of 30 to 40 field trial events each year. She also owns and operates KW Kennels near her home in Martinton, Illinois, and even runs a successful nationwide junior handler program.

Like you, our team members are avid breeders and enthusiasts. Meet our field team and consultants, and learn what ignites our passion for great dogs.
In her job as the Sporting Program Coordinator for the Purina Professional Engagement Team, Gail Inman meets owners, trainers and handlers of all kinds of sporting dogs. She coordinates the Purina Sporting Dog Award Program, which honors the top dogs in six sporting segments, and she has been instrumental in helping to develop Purina’s support of youth programs that encourage participation in dog sports.
Ann Viklund, Director of Conformation for the Purina Professional Engagement Team, has contributed immensely to Purina’s support of the dog fancy. When Ann joined Purina in 1997 as a Field Promotions Representative, Purina was just beginning to partner with enthusiasts.
Scott Smith, Managing Director of the Professional Engagement Team, has worked for Purina since 1999. In his current job, Scott meets show and sporting enthusiasts from across the country. He particularly enjoys attending agility and other dog sports at the Purina Event Center in Gray Summit, Mo., which is part of his team.
