Good Dog Breeder Webinar, Genetic Diversity in Dog Breeding
Article Content Required

Genetic diversity is a complicated topic. Genetically diverse breed populations are important, but so is having lines that breed true. The goal is to keep genetic diversity but to eliminate genetic variants that cause disease. New genomic methods have advanced the way conservation geneticists think about population genetic health and provide insights into strategies for preserving and improving genetic health in dogs.
