A hard-working sporting dog needs high-quality nutrition for optimal performance helping him to reach his/her full potential. Whether working or competing, nutrient-dense food with high levels of fat and protein can help maximize your dog’s training and conditioning. Purina® Pro Plan® is the food of choice for many of the country’s top sporting dogs.

A happy, darling 3-year-old red rough male Brussels Griffon named “Newton” (Multi-BIS/Multi-BISS GCH Somerset Wynzall Hashtag) wowed Best in Show judge Peter Green to win the 16th annual “National Dog Show Presented by Purina.”

Handler Susan DePew of Aiken, South Carolina, who has bred and shown the breed for 36 years, says Newton is the “best Brussels Griffon I have ever shown.”

Although shown on a limited basis in 2017, Newton is the No. 3 Toy dog and No. 1 Brussels Griffon. He took his 22nd Best in Show at the National Dog Show.

Nestlé Purina continues its long-standing support of canine health with recent donations to the AKC Canine Health Foundation (CHF) for the 17th consecutive year. Combined, the 2013 donations represent more than $1 million and make a significant impact on the health concerns of all dogs.

When owner-handler Martha Russell and her talented 5-year-old Labrador Retriever “Tubb” went to the line in the 10th and final series of the National Amateur Championship Stake in Roseburg, Oregon, both were calm and confident. And it paid off. Russell and Tubb performed flawlessly in the challenging final series, and in the process won the prestigious 2014 National Amateur Championship Stake.

A handsome 6 ½-year-old Labrador Retriever named “Mully” didn’t need any Mulligans to win the 2017 National Amateur Championship Stake in Mondovi, Wisconsin. Instead, NAFC-FC Mulligan Off The Rainy “T” relied on sheer talent and smarts to perform flawlessly through 10 challenging land and water tests and top 138 of the finest retrievers in the nation.

Bill Benson brought his 9-year-old Labrador Retriever “Roxie” to the National Amateur Retriever Championship in Ronan, Montana, with one goal in mind — to have fun.

Mission accomplished.

NAFC-FC Hardscrabble Roxie McBunn outperformed 134 of the nation’s finest retrievers to win the 2015 National Amateur Championship, and Benson exceeded all his expectations on the fun meter.

He’s big, he’s handsome, and now he’s a “legend” among the great retrievers that have won the prestigious National Amateur Retriever Championship. Meet NAFC-FC Coolwater’s Hawkeye Legend, winner of the 2016 National Amateur Championship held June 18 to 25 in Stowe, Vermont, and his owner-handler, Alexandra “Alex” Washburn of Bruce, Mississippi.

It’s early morning in Vermont, less than 24 hours after the biggest win of their retriever field trial careers, and Alex is already in the yard, tossing bumpers for her “Legend.”

The static buildup on the blue carpet during “The National Dog Show Presented by Purina®” didn’t shake “Charlie,” a 4-year-old male Skye Terrier. Led by pro handler Larry Cornelius, GCH Cragsmoor Good Time Charlie gave an unwavering and dazzling performance to wow the crowd and judge Beth Sweigart, capturing Best in Show and making breed history.

“Charlie is an outstanding example of the breed. He is well-muscled and has a long, powerful head with a low, level topline and beautiful coat,” Sweigart said.
