A 5-year-old black-and-white female Beagle, NFC FCB Sunshine Crybaby, whom breeder-owner-handler Pete Proctor of Vale, North Carolina, describes as “the whole package,” masterfully won the 13th annual Purina Brace Beagle Champion Award. “Crybaby” earned the honor out of 347 Beagles competing by winning the champion trials held at the Mid-Dixie and Northeastern Federations and placing third at the International trial. Not his first time to win the Purina Champion Award, Proctor won in 2016 with FCB Sunshine Consuela and in 2013 with FCB Sunshine Candid, the dam of Crybaby. NBC FCB Sunshine Cassidy, a female he bred, won in 2011. Proctor, a Hall of Fame beagler who has been in the sport for 41 years, has finished more than 100 Field Champions. Crybaby is fueled by Purina Pro Plan SPORT Performance 30/20 Formula.
