A competitive, compact hound called “Music” led the pack to capture the prestigious 18th annual Purina Outstanding SPO (Small Pack Option) Field Trial Beagle Award, a first for breeder-owner Cody McDaniel of Kentwood, Louisiana, who co-handled the hound with Gary Moorman of Pontotoc, Mississippi. NSPC FCGD McDaniel’s Lil Country Music, a 13-inch female, earned 198 points during the national yearlong competition, winning seven Purina Point field trials and placing in 14, topping the second-place finisher by more than 80 points. “Music has an incredible nose. Her go-getter attitude and nonstop drive make her an exceptional hound,” says McDaniel, who finished Music as a Field Champion before she turned 2 years old. “Music is intensely involved in the pack. When she is cut loose, she never quits hustling and tracks a rabbit with ultimate control.” Music is fed Purina Pro Plan SPORT Performance 30/20 Formula.
