2016 Purina Outstanding Open Retriever Award

Etching his name among the all-time greats, a black Labrador Retriever called “Bullet” became the first three-time consecutive winner of the Purina Outstanding Field Trial Retriever Award. NFC-AFC Robber’s Stray Bullet placed in 10 Open stakes, including five wins, earning 40.5 points to clinch the Purina Award. “Bullet is a remarkable dog and a delight to handle, as he is intelligent, sensitive to correction, and eager to please,” says owner Hank McNeil of Philadelphia, who co-handled the 9-year-old male with pro Alan Pleasant of Black River Retrievers in Angier, North Carolina, a now four-time Purina Award winner. Bred by Dan Hurst of Bullard, Texas, Bullet also was a finalist at the past three National Retriever Championships (NRC), winning the 2014 NRC in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Outside of field trialing, Bullet is an adaptable, affectionate and playful companion, often accompanying McNeil to city parks and art museums. He is fed Purina Pro Plan SPORTPerformance 30/20 Formula.
