2016 Purina Outstanding Nite Hunt Coonhound Award
There was no quit in a Treeing Walker Coonhound named “Blaster,” who stood out for his endurance and accuracy at nite hunts across the country in 2016 as the winner of the prestigious 36th annual Purina Outstanding Nite Hunt Coonhound Award. GR NITE CH CH ‘PR’ Clean’s Swamp Blaster earned 800 points during the yearlong program, and clinched the award in September in the final cast of the United Kennel Club World Championship Nite Hunt in Greencastle, Indiana. The 4-year-old tricolor male gifted owner-handler Jody Jessup of Rural Hall, North Carolina, with his eighth Purina Award. “Blaster is a natural and at the top of his game,” says Jessup. “He is very determined and doesn’t give up.” Bred by Rick Puckett of Abingdon, Virginia, Blaster is co-owned by Bryan Whitted of Huntington, Indiana, with Michael Thomas of Sheldon, South Carolina, and is fed Purina Pro Plan SPORT Performance 30/20 Formula.
