2018-2019 Purina Top All-Age Handler Award
Professional bird dog handler Luke Eisenhart of Leesburg, Georgia, now holds the record as the winningest Purina Top All-Age Handler in the program’s 31-year history, having earned his sixth Purina Award for the 2018-2019 season. Eisenhart also became the third handler in field trial history to score a hat trick in a single season for winning the Purina Top All-Age Handler Award, as well as the Purina Top Field Trial Bird Dog Award and the National Championship for Bird Dogs with Dunn’s Tried ‘N True. Besides “Jack,” seven other dogs contributed to Eisenhart’s 2,483 total points throughout the national yearlong competition, including Ascension, Dunn’s True Issue, Erin’s Wild Justice, Erin’s Redrum, Miller’s Dialing In, Touch’s Red Rider and True Confidence.
“Winning the Purina Award means a great deal to me. It’s the mark of a successful season,” says Eisenhart, who entered 23 Purina Points-earning field trials across the country, placing in 21. “This prestigious award, while given to only one, takes a village — good dogs, good owners, and good scouts each contribute equally to winning. I wouldn’t be accepting this honor if it weren’t for them.”
