2017 Purina Outstanding Derby Field Trial Retriever Award
A spunky, energetic young female Labrador Retriever named “Larry” burst onto the field trial scene with 79 points to capture the 15th Annual Purina Outstanding Derby Field Trial Retriever Award. Larry, whose formal name is She Was Perfect Thursday, rounded out her Derby career with eight wins and 25 placements from 35 starts.
“Larry is the type of dog that when stepping up to the line, you stop and say, ‘There she is!’” says pro trainer Danny Farmer of Anderson, Texas, a now four-time Purina Award winner who handled the just-turned 3-year-old during her Derby career. Bred by Susan and Garth Clark of Port Rowan, Ontario, and Dr. Ed Aycock of Sanger, Texas, Larry is owned by Jill Finch of Cashiers, North Carolina. “Winning the Purina Award is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that means so much,” Finch says. “It gives Larry the recognition she deserves for her trainability and natural marking skills and places her and Danny in the record book for their relentless hard work in striving to be the best.”
Larry is fed Purina Pro Plan SPORT Performance 30/20 Formula.
