2017-2018 Purina Amateur Top Field Trial Bird Dog Award
A 5-year-old white-and-liver female Pointer called “May” took command of the amateur all-age circuit under breeder-owner-handler Keith Wright of Covington, Indiana, to capture the 11th annual Purina Amateur Top Field Trial Bird Dog Award. Touch’s Firedancer, as May is formally known, earned placements in four amateur all-age stakes, three of which were wins, earning 1,490 points and finishing nearly 800 points ahead of the runner-up.
“May is a strong athlete who really stood out as a puppy. Since then, her consistency, intelligence and strong desire to find game has set her apart from the rest of her competition,” says Wright, who also has the distinction of having bred the 2017-2018 Purina Top Field Trial Bird Dog, Touch’s Mega Mike (“Mike”). “It takes an army to win the Purina Award. I’m grateful to all who have helped me along the way.”
May is fed Purina Pro Plan SPORT Performance 30/20 Formula.
